Bridge + Delta Publishing
I was in California for 3 months spending much needed time with my family and also helping my sister realize the dream of creating Bridge + Delta Publishing and the first Filipino American history book for children. My sister, writer Gayle Romasanta, Dr. Dawn Mabalon and Adre Sibayan have been working on Journey For Justice: The Life of Larry Itliong for over a year! How amazing that our children will be able to read this in their California schools and hopefully nationwide. What an eye opening experience for all children to learn about how immigrants made important contributions to their community and to the country. This is the first of 8 books. The Indiegogo campaign kicks off today for 1 month! Please consider investing in Filipino American history books for children. This is the first step of creating more american history books involving immigrant stories from all over the world. Here’s the video to the Indiegogo campaign. To learn more and to back this project, visit Bridge + Delta HERE.
If you’re in the Bay Area in California, join Assemblymember Rob Bonta, and organizational partners of the Filipino American community, to celebrate Filipino American History Month and the third annual Larry Itliong Day. Gayle will be there to read Journey for Justice: the Life of Larry Itliong. There will be food, drinks, a screening of Delano Manongs, as well as cultural and youth performances to commemorate a Filipino American labor leader of the California Farmworker Movement.
